Stress

When you are in stress, the body releases large amount of adrenalin and cortisol. These are called the testosterone killers. They reduce the level of sexual desire and excess amount of cortisol in your blood can cause impotency.

Depression

When a person is in depressive state of mind, nothing seems good for him. He tends to remain sad and unfocused.  It affects everything, even sex. He remains in deep sorrow and loses his interest in any sexual activity.

Alcohol Or Drugs

Consumption of excess alcohol and drugs causes fatigue and affects your nervous system. They also hamper the pituitary gland and thus reduce the level of testosterone in a man. Gradually the man faces the chronic case of low libido.

Lack Of Sleep

Sex is related to both mental and physical health. If you are tired then your body won’t give in to perform any physical activity. So a good sleep is always necessary. Lack of sleep cause the rise of cortisol in your body and reduces the level of testosterone.

Medicines

There are some medicines which hampers your sexual health. Medicines for heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes etc contains high level of nitrate that reduces the flow of blood in your sexual organ and reduces libido.

Hormonal Imbalance

It is the pituitary gland that releases testosterone in your body. If any problem arises in the pituitary gland, the level of the testosterone reduces. Some times the level of oestrogen increases due to liver problem. It is the function of the liver to break oestrogen.

Health Issues

Internal injury, kidney problem or malfunction of brain causes low libido as they affect the pituitary gland directly.
